SHIELD's Structure & Anticipated Workplan

- Selection and creation of an initial pool of 30-35 RTD projects deriving from the two selected scientific and technological areas (geological and atmospheric).
- RTD Projects' Evaluation based on 6 specific evaluation criteria and 3 prerequisites.
- Creation of a final pool of 10-15 selected projects based on specific evaluation criteria.
- Preparation of 10-15 information dossiers (material, demos, etc) 1 per selected RTD project.
- Adaptation of the scientific content of the selected RTD projects based on the perception and pedagogical issues arising for 13-18 year old students (content simplification and popularisation so as to be attractive and understandable from young students).
- Design and production of a diversiform information material (Approximately 15-20 posters for the RTD selected projects in 4 languages, 500 copies of campaign posters per each Information Programme, 6.500 copies of 8 different leaflets (2 per country), 4 radio spots, 1 video show, website, newsletters and invitations to more than 2.000 organisations, etc).
- Implementation of 4 publicity campaigns (including interviews and articles to local radio stations, TV channels and newspapers).. Implementation of 4 interactive exhibitions (1 in a MS and 3 in Candidate countries).
- Organisation of 4 debate workshops (1 in a MS and 3 in Candidate countries).
- Exhibition guided visits to 2.000 secondary school students (per country on average).Dissemination activities to 7 discrete target groups in 4 countries (School students, national authorities of education, school directors, RTD organisations, policy makers, professional bodies, etc.).
