February 12-13, SHIELD’s kick-off meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece

The kick-off meeting of SHIELD project took place in Thessaloniki (Greece) and lasted for two days, February 12th -13th. Kick-off meeting was organized by Q-PLAN (SHIELD’s Project Co-ordinator) and hosted in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) campus.

Representatives of all partners Q-PLAN & AUTH (Greece), PBF (Poland), H&K (Estonia), HUENGEO (Turkey) gathered together to discuss, plan and launch project’s implementation.

The agenda of the first day of the meeting included all the general aspects concerning project’s smooth implementation (European Science Week initiative, SHIELD’s aims, objectives, deliverables, targets and anticipated results, partners’ roles and responsibilities, work allocation, timetable, etc).

At the second day of the meeting project’s tasks were discussed in more detail, particularly for those issues that are considered of major importance (scientific material collection, adaptation - popularization, planning and organization of the Information Programme and of the events in the four countries, etc).

The meeting ended with the summarization of the conclusions by the project co-ordinator and a clear picture in each participant about project’s work allocation and pathway to success.

A summary of kick-off minutes was in latter stage prepared and disseminated to partners by the project co-ordinator.
