After a successful organisation in Thessaloniki on November 2004 (during European Science Week 2004), SHIELD Exhibition was transfered and currently organised in the Lesvos Natural History Museum of Petrified Forest, Lesvos Island Greece.
The exhibition was initially hosted in the Exhibition Centre of the Chamber of Lesvos (2-21) March 2005 and then was transfered to Museum\\\'s premises in Sigri where it will remain open up to 15 of April. University students, school students, tourist from all over Europe and the local communities had a unique opportunity to visit the SHIELD exhibition and get acquainted with natural hazards and disasters, discover the latest achievements of science and technology and realise the contribution of European research in this common stuggle against Natural Hazards.
The exhibition in Lesvos was organised by the Lesvos Natural History Museum of Petrified Forest in co-operation with the Geography Department of the University of Aegean. SHIELD Project Co-ordinator, Q-PLAN S.A., offered to the Museum the respective material (exhibition posters, demos, banners, leaflets, etc), while Prof. Nikolaos Zouros (Manager of the Museum) arranged all the necessary details in respect to Exhibition transfer and organisation (also with the kind support of the Chamber of Lesvos).
Finally, Q-PLAN has also informed the Greek Ministry of Education, Enviromental Office, which is also examing the transfering of the exhibition in other cities of Greece.
